Franco Benevento, Technical Director
Coach Franco, who holds his national USSF B Badge, is a former professional player in Italy and the U.S with the New York Cosmos. He has over 20 years of coaching experience including the semi-professional team San Jose Frogs FC where he led the team to a second place finish and a playoff appearance in the inaugural year. Coach Franco then coached the Academy's Senior Team to a Championship appearance in the National Premier Soccer League.
Aaron Castro 
Coach Aaron is the former General Manager of the USL PDL SAN JOSE FROGS F.C. and holds a USSF National D Coaching Badge. Aaron played varsity soccer for James Lick High School in East San Jose. In addition to coaching and training some of the best young athletes in the Bay Area, he also sought out local talented Latino players that fell through the cracks of youth soccer and helped to provide opportunities where none existed prior. Many of these players have gone on to excel in club, high school, and collegiate soccer.
Aaron Castro, Jr.
Coach Aaron, who holds a NSCAA Regional and Fiorentina FC Basic Course Diplomas, is in his fourth year coaching at PSA. Aaron's first year was spent as an assistant coach in both the Pre-Academy and Academy programs.
Joel Denney
Coach Joel, who holds a NSCAA Junior Level VI and Fiorentina FC Basic Course Diplomas, is in his first year coaching at PSA. Previously Joel worked with Coach Mike Karr at Prospect High School as well as other local youth leagues and is a former De Anza College player.
David Frank 
Coach David graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2006 with a degree in Business Management and Economics. In 2004 Dave helped to lead the Slugs to an appearance in the NCAA Final Four and a National Runners Up finish. In 2006 he captained the Slugs to a 21-2 record and an appearance in the NCAA tournament's round of 16. In addition to his successful college career, David has starred for the Semi-Professional San Jose Frogs, and spent some time playing with Arminia Bielefeld of the German Bundesliga and with the Houston Dynamo Reserve team. He has coached at PSA for one year, Harbor High School girls varsity team as head coach for 3 years, and is in his 4th year as an assistant coach for the UC Santa Cruz Men’s Soccer program. He currently holds an NSCAA National Diploma and USSF C License.
Mark Hogenhout
Coach Mark holds his USSF B license and the NSCAA advanced diploma. He was assistant coach for the University of Santa Cruz women's soccer team. He also coached in the Santa Cruz Breakers soccer club where he won two state cups. Mark coached the Santa Cruz high school women's team where they went on to win three CCS titles along with winning the league four times. Mark has an extensive playing career he played his youth soccer in the state of Washington and was an all American in high school. He went on to represent the United States on the U18 National Team where he played with national team players Tim Howard, Carlos Bocanegra, and Steve Cherundolo. Mark earned a scholarship to the University of Washington where he won three Pac-10 titles. Mark went on to play professionally for the Seattle Sounders.
Mike Karr, Director of Coaching
Coach Mike started the Academy in 2003 in order to combat the over 60% drop out rate of youth players after the age of twelve years by creating a professional soccer environment while adding the field space needed so more kids can play and enjoy the game. Coach Mike has been instructing players at several levels for many years including youth, high school, Olympic Development Program, college and semi-professional. Mike was the Head Coach of the Academy's senior team that won the 2008 league championship. Mike is the former San Jose Frogs Goalkeeper Coach and Prospect High School Varsity Boys Coach where he won back to back championships earning him BVAL Coach of the Year Award. He holds a NSCAA National Youth Coaching Diploma and BA in Secondary Education.
Ramon Mendoza
Coach Ramon has over 10 years of youth coaching experience. In Ramon's first season as a PSA coach in 2011 he won the Norcal Premier U14 Silver Level State Cup. His playing experience includes semi-professional with his highest level matches played against the San Jose Clash.
Mario Ortega
A native of Honduras, Mario, who holds his USSF National D Badge, has been involved in coaching various Bay Area youth teams since 2006. In addition, Mario previously worked for CONCACAF Gold Cup as the Honduran Team Liaison in 1998 and 2000, FIFA Women's World Cup Transportation Coordinator for the USSF executive staff in 1999 and in the Honduras Professional Soccer League as the General Manager of First Division Honduras Sazburg professional team.
Chris Salcido 
A Native of Bay Area, Coach Chris moved back from Arizona, where he was coaching with Sereno Soccer Club & assistant coach with the U17 Real Salt Lake Boys Program (MLS). He holds a USSF National A & NSCAA National Coaching Licenses & a BA in Sports & Medicine from San Diego State University. Chris competed at San Francisco State University for 2 years.
Enrique Tovar
Coach Enrique, who holds is USSF National D Badge, has been coaching youth soccer in the Bay Area since 1997 including Overfelt High School, MASCA Futsol, San Jose State and several youth clubs. Enrique currently competes with the U.S. Futsal National Team and has competed in the Pan-Am Games, Rio de Janeiro and Brazil tournaments. In addition, Enrique captained the San Diego State University team earning 1st team all-league in 2000 as well as played professionally with the Major Indoor Soccer League California Cougars and United Soccer League California Rush.
